Welcome to the website of piano prodigy Dawson Dowdy. Dawson has been playing since age 5, and made his debut public performance at age 6. He released his first album, October Ace, when he was only 8. All of the selections on the album were Dawson's original musical compositions. Dawson co-wrote the lyrics with his father, who was also an accomplished musician and singer.
Dawson is a sophomore at The High School for Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, TX. He is majoring in jazz piano. He also plays in several youth bands at Lakewood Church. Dawson intends to pursue his music career after graduation. He also performs professionally with three of his classmates. Their combo is called The Paradox Quartet, and they perform regularly in a variety of venues around the greater Houston area.
If you would like to book Dawson or The Paradox Quartet to perform at your next event, please send a message via the Bookings Page.
The audio files available via the player on this page and under the 'Music" tab are some of Dawson's compositions from the October Ace album, featuring Hans Olsen (vocals/harmonica), Los Guys of Phoenix AZ (drums, guitars, bass), and the late Robert 'Bigs' Dowdy (vocals). Dawson is playing an antique Hammond organ on "Dance Across Heaven."
